The baggers will always ask if you need help out to your car. You can’t beat the service at Highland Park. What’s also nice is that the staff will personally assist you with your purchases and help you bring it out to you car, I’m guessing they also do this so they can bring your cart back, as there is no designated cart return and they like to keep the parking lot tidy. The best part, if you are a regular you can easily request items you wish to see and it will be ordered for you. Although its a small store you will find all your basic necessities and fresh veggie/fruit selection. Deli, pastry section, large selection of fresh meats from chicken to filet mignon, marinated selection and fresh seafood. From fresh pizza, wings, sandwiches and delicious comfort meals, to fresh made sushi on the spot as you walk in. This Highland Park market offers all the same fresh items as its sister stores. The parking is ample as its located in a plaza on the corner of route 83/ 94, and shares space with a newer Walgreens, a small liqueur Store, dry cleaners and the Birch Hill Tavern. Even if you don’t live in this area you have heard about this spot on the news during storms when we have all lost electricity for nearly two week, this store was the Only one open thanks to their generator that powers the entire store. I happen to be very lucky as this wonderful little grocery shop is right in my neighborhood, although I usually forget to check in I frequent this place nearly every day for at least 5 years. I will usually drive the extra miles into town and shop there for better pricing and much larger selection. The only drawback? Their prices have definitely followed suit. Staff is nice and they employ the kids from the area, so it’s nice to see them supporting there. Does the trick if you have a botanical emergency. Sushi made there as is the trend, nice deli with trendy fresh made foods, sandwiches to order, delicious bakery, but no florist, just a small flower refrigerator. They still keep the old school fun of the original animatron jungle animals in the corner of produce, but the rest of the store is modernized nicely. Every year they get better, especially after the big expansion a few years hence. That being said, they have consistently upped their game to keep up with the discerning whole foods crowd moving into this area. They are the only game in (this side of) town. I hope those who are reading this review choose Sal, you won't regret it.Again, this market benefits highly just from their location. All the guests thoguht I must have spent a furtune on the my wedding cake, but in fact I just very lucky to find Sal in Highland Park Market. And the taste? The best tiramisu cake every. yes you read right, $350 for two cakes, the decorative cake filled with 5 dozen of roses between the tiers. But the best thing is that he made all of this for only $350. So what he suggested was that he can make two cakes for me, one sheet cake Tiramisu and one beautiful decorative 3 tier cake that's still edible but not as fancy. I wanted to have Tiramisu cake as my wedding cake, but Sal told Tiramisu is too soft of a cake to stand up in tiers. I have seen many pictures of wedding cakes and skeched out what i am looking for and Sal delivered. Buying a cake from his bakery was the best choice I have made. Ok, where do i start? My wedding cake was done by a bakery in the Highland Park Market suggested by my caterer.
